I will always remember the beautiful, tall blonde girl from the days of shopping at Supré who would serve us. Years later she booked me to photograph her wedding at Apple Tree Bay - the wedding of Chloe & Shannon 💛 what a day it was!!

Over the years Chloe & I began to cross paths — through photo shoots with their girls ,weddings, market place buys, small town Nelson, swapping op shops finds and then in the final year over painting.

Taking people’s photographs is such an an honour. Words can’t really explain the emotion and deep connection artists take on when they begin to capture & tell someone’s story through their lens.

Chloe the beautiful girl who would serve me at Supré passed away 3 years ago.

Our hearts broke for her and her wonderful family. Absolutely devastating.

As time went on I began to feel a stirring on my heart to offer Shannon a Photoshoot with their 3 beautiful kids..I remembered how much Chloe loved meeting up for photoshoots with the girls.

A month ago I stumbled across a Dropbox folder filled with photos of Chloe with their girls Quinn & Oakley. I reached out to Shannon about these extra photos found and was suddenly stirred again to offer family photographs…. So I did…

The timing was perfect … Shannon was so keen and the girls were so

EXCITED for aphotoshoot..

It rained the night before their photos - I was a little concerned what the morning would be like after rain……but we were so BLESSED to be greeted with a morning sky that looked like a painting!!!

I’ll be honest, this the only session I’ve ever had, that bought up a lot of tears.

It was a HUGE honour to capture Shannon & his and Chloe’s beautiful 3 kids. Marlin was an absolute cheeky wee one, demolishing the lollies I bought along and pointing at me when asked “ who does the worst farts 🙈😂”

A moment also to honour Chloe and her legacy - to be able to capture a memory for her children with their Dad, to celebrate them!! 💛
